ZNEIFF of the Calvary in Mirabel aux Baronnies here

Covering an area of 57 hectares the area consists of erodes sandy marls with sparse vegetation.

The flora consists mainly of holm oaks, white oaks and Aleppo pines. On the ground saltwort grows along with Micropus (protected in the Rhone Alps region).

Among the fauna there is the Psammodrome d’Espagne (a type of small lizard), the ocellated lizard, the Montpellier grass snake and the bee-eater (photo opposite)




ZNIEFF of the Eygues  here

With 640 hectares it connects Mirabel aux Baronnies to Tulette. It represents the bed of the Eygues, which is a Mediterranean type torrential river.

The flora consists principally of willow, alder, German tamarind and sea buckthorn.

The fauna is home to many varieties such as: 2 types of warblers (Bouscarle de Cetti and Cisticole des joncs, see photo), 2 types of dragon flies (protected in Europe, threatened in France), the European beaver and the Toxostome, an uncommon fish from the Rhone tributaries.

With an area of 96 hectares it touches the ZNEIFF of the Eygues and has the same characteristics in terms of both flora and fauna. Bouscarle de Cetti, see photo)

Covering an area of 54 hectares, among the flora there is: the circe of Montpellier which is protecte din the Rhone Alps, the dwarf Massette bulrush which is rare and threatened and which can only be found on this Zneiff.
